Editorial policy
How TACTIX writes, checks and presents what it publishes.
What we publish
Content on TACTIX is built around data and modelling, not original reporting. Where we reference news — transfers, manager changes, injuries — we link to and credit the original source. We don't accept payment to influence editorial coverage or bookmaker reviews, and affiliate relationships are disclosed in context and never affect the model.
How we present predictions
Probabilities, not certainties. We write about the model's confidence in each outcome, never that a result "will" happen.
No inflated accuracy. We lead with calibration and show our working, including losing predictions.
Value is model-vs-market. When we flag "value", it means the model's probability beats the bookmakers' implied price — and we say so.
Our editorial principles
Verifiable claims. Specific claims — a player's xG, a team's form points, a manager's record — should be checkable against the underlying data. We try to surface that data alongside the claim where space allows.
Limits acknowledged. Football is a high-variance sport. Models lose to noise; insiders have information that models don't. We write with those limits in mind.
Responsible gambling. Anywhere on the site that discusses bookmakers, betting, or accumulators carries 18+ messaging and signposts to BeGambleAware and GamCare. This isn't a regulatory checkbox — it's a baseline for any site that publishes gambling-adjacent content.
Who checks it
Articles and data pages carry a named author or the TACTIX Model Desk, and a visible last-updated date.
The TACTIX analyst is Chris Watts (Founder).
Mistakes
We correct mistakes. If you spot a factual error — a wrong stat, a mislabelled fixture, a broken claim — please contact us and we'll fix it and note material corrections. See corrections.
