TACTIX Impact
An honest player rating. Impact is a per-match contribution score built from raw match actions — and unlike most ratings, every weight is published. No black box.

Reading the Leaderboard
Pick a league to see its top players ranked by Impact per match — the average of every match Impact the player has recorded that season. Apps is appearances; G and A are goals and assists, shown for context because they’re the heaviest single weights, but the ranking rewards the full body of work: a defender who tackles, blocks and intercepts all season can out-rank a streaky forward.
Boards are league matches only. A player’s own hub adds up every competition they played that season, so their appearance count and Impact there can be higher — both figures come from the same published formula over different sets of matches.
How Impact Is Calculated
Each match action is worth a fixed number of points. A player’s match Impact is the sum; their season figure is the average per match. The formula is linear and fully reproducible.
- Attacking — goal
+3.5, assist+2.5, shot on target+0.4, key pass+0.35, successful dribble+0.35. - Defending — tackle
+0.5, interception+0.5, block+0.5, duel won+0.2, penalty saved+5.0. - Goalkeeping — each save
+0.4, clean sheet+3.0(goalkeepers only — a team clean sheet isn’t credited to outfielders, whose defending already counts via tackles, blocks and interceptions). - On the ball — each accurate pass
+0.01; penalty won+1.2, scored+1.0. - Costly actions — yellow
−1.0, red−3.0, foul−0.15, penalty missed−1.5, penalty conceded−1.2.

Why Publish the Weights?
Most player ratings are proprietary: a number appears next to a name and you’re asked to trust it. Impact takes the opposite bet — the formula is linear, every weight is public, and anyone can recompute any score from the same official match data. That makes Impact arguable, which is the point: if you think a tackle is worth more than +0.5, you can say exactly where you disagree and rebuild the table your way from the published weights.
It’s the same philosophy as the prediction side of TACTIX, where every forecast is graded publicly on the model scoreboard: claims you can check beat claims you have to trust.
What Impact Can’t See
Impact is built from on-ball event data, so off-ball value — pressing shape, decoy runs, defensive organisation — is invisible to it. Linear weights also treat every action of a type identically: a 90th-minute winner scores the same +3.5 as a 5–0 consolation. And goalkeepers and outfielders accumulate points differently by role, which is why the leaderboard is best read within a position group. These are deliberate trade-offs for a rating that stays fully transparent and reproducible; treat it as a well-lit lens, not a verdict.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is TACTIX Impact?
Impact is a per-match player contribution score built from raw match actions — goals, assists, tackles, saves, passes and more — each worth a fixed, published number of points. A player’s match Impact is the sum of their actions; the season figure is the average per match. Unlike most player ratings, every weight is public, so any figure can be reproduced by hand from the same match data.
Why is Impact shown per match rather than as a season total?
A per-match average measures how much a player contributes when they actually play, so a consistently excellent player isn’t out-ranked simply because someone else played more minutes. It also makes players comparable mid-season, after injury, or across teams with different fixture counts.
How early in a season does the leaderboard mean anything?
The qualifying threshold moves with the campaign: it is roughly a third of the matches the busiest team has played, capped at ten. Two rounds in, one appearance qualifies and the board is badged as a small sample; by midwinter it takes ten. The threshold in force is printed above every board, so you always know what you are reading.
Can Impact be compared across leagues?
The formula and weights are identical in every competition, so the arithmetic is directly comparable. Context isn’t: leagues differ in tempo, quality and how many high-value actions a match produces. Treat cross-league comparisons as informative rather than definitive — and note that a player’s own hub totals every competition they played, while a league board counts league matches only.
Is Impact a betting signal?
No. Impact measures on-pitch contribution from event data; it says nothing about odds or value. TACTIX’s value analysis lives on the Today’s Value board, which compares the prediction model’s probabilities with market prices. The two are deliberately separate.
Can I access Impact data programmatically?
Yes. The full weight set is published at /api/impact/weights, the board at /api/impact/leaderboard, and the league/season filter tree at /api/impact/meta. See the developer documentation for access details.
What are Impact’s known limitations?
It’s built from on-ball event data, so it can’t see off-ball work — pressing shape, runs that drag defenders, organisation. Linear weights also treat every action of a type equally: a 90th-minute winner counts the same as a consolation goal. Those are deliberate trade-offs for a rating that stays fully transparent and reproducible.
